Stock packaging suits startups, test launches and limited budgets: no mold fee, faster samples, and surface finishes such as hot stamping, silk screen and spray. Custom packaging suits established brands that need an exclusive look or a special function: a mold fee applies, the lead time is longer, and a patent can be filed to protect the design.

Which path fits the project
Stock is the right start when the silhouette can come from EHON’s library and the brand lives in color, logo and finish. It suits a first launch, a market test, or a budget that should not carry tooling. Sampling is faster because the mold already exists. Hot stamping, silk screen, spray and other surface processes can still be applied.
Custom is the right start when a mature brand needs a shape, mechanism or function that no current mold can carry. Tooling is quoted, the calendar is longer, and the approved structure can be the basis of a patent application and a brand barrier. EHON then samples the new tool before bulk.

Does stock packaging still allow a logo and color?
Yes. Color, logo and surface finishes such as hot stamping, silk screen and spray are the usual changes on an existing mold. A new outer shape is a custom project.
When is a new mold required?
When the outer shape or a critical function does not exist in EHON’s current molds. That route includes a mold fee and a longer lead time.
